I Special correspondent Invercargill ■ Candidates for Saturday’s [Tapanui meeting had a fast ! course proper on which to complete their semi-final trials at Invercargill, (on Tuesday), and fast times were the order of a busy morning’s training. With the trestles about 10 metres out on the course proper, some to record fast times were Mister Dee Jay, Jak’s Hope, Great Day, Miles Better, Harold Wilson, Ahbonito, Michael’s Choice, Stephie Lou and Melia. Ahbonito, Michael’s Choice, Stephie Lou and Melia dashed over 800 m in a smart 49.5 s the closing 600 m [in 375. It was a useful worklout on their part.
