Top moto-cross rider recovers
One of New Zealand's leading 125 moto-cross riders, Blair Carpenter, of Christchurch, expects to return to competition within a few weeks. The shoulder he badly dislocated in the first round of the last New Zealand 125 championship did not heal immediately and had to be pinned. However, he is now almost fully recovered and keen to resume racing. “I
can hardly wait to get going,” he said. “The big thing now is to get myself fit.” Carpenter finished third in the national 125 championship three seasons ago and was among the favourites last summer until his crash. Unfortunately, he will miss this year’s championship because the qualifying events have already been held.
