D.B. FIRMS ON RESULT
Share prices were firmer in moderately active trading on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday. However, despite a rise of 1.87 points to 319.50 in the N.Z.U.C. index, market leaders were prominent in the falls. MSI Corporation rose 52c to 150 c after the directors issued a “don’t sell” notice because a bid was in the offing. Dominion Breweries gained 3c on a sound result in the half-year, the Canterbury Timber Products continued to improve on its profitable trading. Insurers were easier.
