Guyana deaths
Sir, — What happened in Guyana could not happen in New Zealand? I was told by a member of a Christian sect that when • the time comes for the establishment of God’s kingdom on earth, I could have a sword put in my hand and be told to kill my son. I said that I would not kill my son. He then said that then I would see to it that my son was brought up in such a manner that I would not need to kill him. I repeated that I would never kill my son; I do not kill. I wonder how many consider that the self-righteous destruction of others, including family, who do not conform to Christian beliefs, will be ordered and condoned by God and religiously carried out by God’s chosen people. —Yours, etc.,
ROSIE WITTY. November 26, 1978.
