■ Stan Hill and Gerald Wilson will be aiming for a ■ third year together as Can- ■ terbury coaches and selec- • tors when the Canterbury I Rugby Union makes its top appointments this evening. , Both have been nomin- ' ated by the Christchurch ' club, with which both have [ ties, Mr Hill as a player and ' Mr Wilson as a coach. The ! latter has had two years as back selector, and Mr Hill four in charge of the for- , wards. They are so far opposed by three men. Two former Linwood players, Andy Holland and Fergie McCormick, have been nominated by Belfast and Linwood respectivly for positions as Canterbury A, Canterbury B or Canterbury Colts selectors. The fifth nominee — with more possible from union management committee members — is John Creighton, nominated by , University for Canterbury A ’ or B.
The other nominations for the B panel are Bill Haase (Belfast), Neil Cornelius and Alan McCall (Christchurch), Fergus Campbell and Brent Moore (Old Boys). Messrs McCall and Campbell have also been nominated by those clubs to join McCormick and Holland as contenders for the Colts panel. Mr Hill, as last summer, will be in California for the off-season, but he will return- in April, again about the same time of the new season as earlier this vear.
