Sumner crash victims named
The police have identified, two young Christchurch men; who died after the motor-! cycle they were riding! crashed into a pole near Shag Rock. Sumner, at' ;8.15 p.m. on Wednesday. One of the men was thrown into the sea, and the other landed on rocks beside Main Road. They were David Wayne Pritchard, aged 23, of Christ- [ church; and ' Dennis Harold Bristowe, aged 21, of Christ- | church. ' Both men died in the ; Christchurch Hospital soon after the accident. ; Witnesses said that the [motor-cycle failed to take a [bend near Shag Rock and Iran across the road into the Ipole. Mr Harris said the ;jman was unconscious, but i was still breathing. ;i The Ministry of Transport lis still looking for a vehicle > i which struck a pedestrian s; outside a Christchurch Hotel • on November 3. The injured man, Lindsay 'Sweeney, aged 33. of Purjchas Street, St Albans, was reported still in a serious : condition in the Christ- > church Hospital last evening. The Ministry of Transport ! seeks the driver of a lime- ! green 1970 Holden station i waggon, with a white roof, which struck Mr Sweeney in Oxford Terrace, outside the i ■ Grenadier Tavern, about 11 1 p.m. • The Ministry is also anxiious to hear from anybody i who saw the accident.
