Several kart spills
Templeton Hospital resounded to the roar of a \ large number of karts 1 recently when the Christ- i church Kart Club staged ; its annual meeting in the ! ■ hospital grounds. The 300 m circuit was lined with a large number of spectators for the 15- [ race programme, which ! was punctuared with sev- ■ era! spectacular spills. Warren Kurney featured in one accident when his ; kart rolled several times before coming to rest against a curb. Kurney : was pinned underneath, ' but he was not injured, . save for some minor ; damage to his artificial : leg. The major race of the , programme, the “All In.” was contested by a small 1 field of 10 karts. Roy !, [ McLauchlan and Graeme - I Tapper duelled throughout [ | the entire race, but |[ ' McLauchlan edged ahead at the end to win. Drivers to record wins .! at the meeting were:— Paul Crighton (4), ■: McLauchlan and John Hamilton (2), David ; Guage. Phil Polson, Tap- i per, Craig Gardiner, John ! Bell and Gary Dixon.
