Payout figures transposed
In an article published on Saturday setting out the amounts the major .metropolitan racing and trotting clubs and other minor clubs in the Canterbury. Marlborough, Nelson. Otago and West Coast districts had received from the distribution of the T.A.B. profits in the 1977-78 year the individual figures and comparisons were inadvertently transposed. The article implied that, with few exceptions, the majority of individual clubs would receive less in a year when surplus T.A.B. profits had risen by $BOO,OOO to S9.BM. The correct amounts the major metropolitan clubs received. with the previous year’s figure in parentheses, were: Auckland Racing Club, $895,506 ($825,285); Wellington Racing Club, $581,955 ($575,144); Auckland Trotting Club, $659,428 ($527,245); N.Z. Metropolitan Trotting Club, $415,867 ($402,714); Avondale Jockey Club, $411,030 ($357,196) and the Canterbury Jockey Club, $298,269 ($294,633).
