Scoot appeals at Wanganui
Special correspondent Wellington The northern three-year-old Scoot looks likely to score another win when he contests the Ballance Sakes, first leg of the ’T.A.B. double a Wanganui today. Scoot has been racing extremely well in three-year-old races since the start of the new term and with his record of ithree win and three seconds from six starts he looks likely to be a dominating favourite. Possibly the hardest for* Scoot to beat will be the southern gelding Sonnellino, whose three starts at the Otaki-Masterton meetings yielded two wins and un unlucky fourth placing. Cap tain Forward which will be driven by Peter Wolfenden, might also take beating. This combination teamed successfully' to beat Scoot last time out. Tunny, from the back mark of 20m, should prove too strong in the second leg, the Grand International Hotel Handicap. Tunny raced well from back marks on the three nights at Hutt Park and although he had no chance with Tommy on Saturday his second was a very good effort.
Rocket Bay, the winner of two races at the Otaki fixture, and Miss Supreme, third to Tommy and Tunny on Saturday, looks the best of the others.
