PA Wellington I The Department of Educa-1 tion will next week examine 1 its methods of recruiting 1 teachers. The Post-Primary Teachers’ Association has said < that it is becoming more and more difficult to recruit and ' retain secondary teachers, 1 because of poor pay and conditions of service. k
About 11 teachers and representatives of educational organisations will take part in a three-day seminar on recruitment in Wellington next week. The department’s director of personnel (Mr B. Wood), said that it reviewed recruitment annually, and this year had decided to take a fresher and deeper •look at its policies.
