Covering hair in bakeries

Sir, — On Monday, October 16, South Pacific Television showed during the 6 p.m. news, an item on the return to work by the bakeries. What surprised me was the absence of white cap or net over the long hair of an assistant. Perhaps this health regulation does not apply to bakeries? — Yours, etc.,

(The deputy medical officer of health (Dr J. Tees) replies that bakers should wear hats that cover their hair. This is required by the Food Hygiene Regulations.)
