Waimea scheme approved
Wellington reporter Approval in principle has been given to the Waimea County Council to build its proposed $lOO,OOO 88 valley rural water supply scheme.
The Water Resources Council has given provisional approval, with 1:1 grant of $50,000. But before the county submits the scheme for final approval, it must obtain a suitable water right, a favourable final economic report, a favourable health report, approval from the Ministry of Works of the detailed design and a suitable financial allocation made available by the Government to allow building to start.
