Stiletto heels damage

Sir, — The solution to the Canterbury Museum’s problem with stiletto heels again threatening to damage their floors, (“The Press,” September 23) is to secure a blanket ban with ail controllers of public buildings whether local body or Government. Stiletto heels are sheer vandalism. Cutting up the upholstery with sharp knives would land the culprit in court, so why should we tolerate cutting up the floors with sharp heels? As a ratepayer and taxpayer I object to footing repair bills just because vandalism has the blessing of fashion. — Yours, etc., ELSIE LOCKE. September 25, 1978.
