Western draw final
Caversham and Western drew, 1-1, in the final Broadlands Southern League soccer match of the season in Dunedin on Saturday.
The result means that Rangers, Caversham and Western finish level on 24 points, three behind the competition winner, Dunedin City. Rangers, with its superior goal difference, takes second place and Caversham third.
Two Broadlands qualifying division matches were played. Rangiora beat Christchurch United, 1-0, while Papanui W.M.C., already assured of promotion next season, beat Timaru City, 3-1.
