Things to see
The Rangiora Photographic Society will present a photographic history of Rangiora in slides, movies, and photographs in the St John’s Anglican Hall this Tuesday evening with admis* sion by tickets obtainable from members or from Andris Apse, Ltd, photographic shop. The society has an extensive collection of historic photographs and slides. Considerable work has been done in copying material especially early, photographs dating back to at least 1875.
The photographic show will deal with three broad aspects of Rangiora’s history — its growth and development; buildings;! and important events. Other things which heave been suggested as worth seeing by visitors » to Rangiors for the North , Canterbury arts festival include the following:—
Rangiora Museum. Good « Street, 2 p.m. — 4.30 p.m. daily during the Festival - Week. Adults 40c, children 10c, groups by arrange- . ment with Mrs D. Grego- - ry, Church Street.
Handwork and Shell i Display.— Mrs A. H. Hills, 20 Wales Street, has S kindly Opened her display for the public. Donation 20c and items for sale. 10 * a.m. — 4 p.m. School Children’s Mural.— High Street, opposite Durham Street. Rangiora Public Library.— The glass dome ceiling is worth seeking, and then go to the Arts Festival in adjoining Victoria Park, with its at-/, tractive garden setting.
Rangiora Post Office.— One of the few in the Commonwealth to • have the insignia of King’’ Edward VIII.
Dudley Park Gates.— These commemorate the" borough’s fiftieth anniversary.
Rangiora Businessmen’s! Association.— Window display competition and a competition to find the shop assistant most suitably dressed for the cen- ' tennial theme.
