Banks higher again
A report by the Commonwealth Bank set off another prices surge among the bank stocks in Australia yesterday. The Commonwealth Bank, the first to report, under the new disclosure arrangements, revealed reserve funds of $435.6M, and a 31 per cent rise in profit to 5101.4 M for the year to June 30. , The Bank of N.S.W. gained another 38c to 820 c, the ANZ rose 20c to 408 c, the National gained 14c to 302 c, and the CBA 8c to 288 c.
