Ali in demand
NZPA Chicago Muhammad Aii has been offered SUSBM to fight the opponent of his choice in Iran. A statement issued by his lawyer, Mr Charles Lomax, in Chicago said that he had also been offered between SUS6M to SUSBM to fight Gertie Coetzee in South Africa. Muhammad had no intention at this time of retiring without another defence of his heavy-weight boxing crown, Mr Lomax said. Any decision on whom to fight, when and where will not be made for at least eight months, however.
Mr Lomax said the statement was released after numerous offers had been received since Ali regained the World Boxing Association title by beating Leon Spinks.
