N.Z. asked to stay
PA Wellington Although the New Zealand soccer team has not qualified for further rounds in the President’s Cup tournament in South Korea, it has been asked to remain in Korea and play additional games, according to the chairman of the New Zealand Football Association, Mr Terry Kills alea. The original invitation from the Korean Football Association indicated that once a team had not quali-
fied for further games, it would be required to leave Korea within three days of the last game having been played, Mr Killalea said. However, this was not now necessary and an additional game had been arranged against West Germany, which New Zealand beat, 3-0, in the tournament. The New Zealand team will play against a Malaysian State side on September 26 and will also play Singapore before returning to New Zealand on October 3.
