Melrose arrives in N.Z.
PA Wanganui Tony Melrose, the New South Wales substitute player for the injured secondtest full-back, Paul McLean, arrived in Wanganui last night after a flight from Sydney. Melrose, a specialist flyhalf, is the fourth replacement player to be called upon by the Australian management on tour. Mrs Janice Haberecht travelled to New Zealand with a friend on the same flight as Melrose. Mrs Haberecht immediately went to Wanganui Base Hospital to visit her husband, Darryl Haberecht, the Wallaby coach who was admitted to hospital on Monday after suffering a heart attack. The medical superintendent of the hospital, Dr Bruce Craig, yesterday described Mr Haberecht’s condition as “stable and satisfactory.” “He will be kept under observation for several more days,” Dr Craig said.
