Golfing loss
A highly respected official of the Russley Golf Club, Mr Keith Hitchon, died recently at the age of 55. Mr Hitchon, a vice-pres-ident and an efficient club captain of Russley, was elected to the management committee of the Canterbury Provincial Golf Association this year and was appointed to the selection panel. Mr Hitchon will be re« membered for his diligent efforts in ensuring the success of many major professional golfing events held at Russley. He was an above average amateur golfer, playing five seasons of Woodward Cup in the senior interclub competition from 1970 to 1976. He played 21 matches for 10 wins and five halves. Mr Hitchon, who is survived by his wife and five children, will be missed at Russley.
