A horse is a common sight in one well-known part of Addington, but the sight of Mr Biil Gibson and his horse Skeeter in the shopping centre in Lincoln Road yesterday drew an admiring crowd of children., The purpose of Mr Gibson’s attention-raising jog with Skeeter was to enlist financial support from shoppers and shopkeepers for the $lOOO which the manager of the Lion Tavern in Lincoln Road (Mr Dion Turgis) and his staff wish to raise as a community project to provide equipment for the pediatric wards at Christchurch Hospital. The money will be used to help children who have diabetes and asthma. Shown with Skeeter and Mr Gibson are Rachel Irving, Mark Nicholl and Richard Brian.
