Finger puppets
Make a family of finger puppets these holidays. You can play all sorts of games with them. It’s fun, also, to make up a story or play and act it with the puppets in front of your family. This is what you need:— some cardboard (an old cereal packet would be suitable); strong glue; scissors; paints or felt pens; scraps of felt, wool, material, and paper for decorations. Cut squares .of the cardboard about scm wide and Bcm long. Glue the edges so that they form small rolls which will fit over your fingers. Paint a face on the front of each roll
and paint on some hair, too. Or, if you prefer, make hair .out of wool and attach it with glue. Decorate the puppets with the felt, paper, and material scraps. One or two could have paper hats; another, wool pigtails; another, a felt bow tie, and so on. You could also make an animal finger puppet out .of felt — a mouse for instance, and it could have a long felt tail and big ears. Another way to make finger puppets is to use an old glove. Cut off the fingers and, using a needle and coloured wools, stitch eyes, a nose, and a mouth.
