Price rise for 170 items
About 170 grocery items rose in price last month, according to the Wellington branch of the Campaign Against Rising Prices. This had brought the total number of grocery-price increases this year to more than 1100, said the secretary of the branch (Mrs C. Kelly*. Among the bigger in-! creases was a 28 per cent rise n Trigon kitchen Lags, a 26 per cent increase in Beehive matches, and a 21 per cent increase in 425 g cans of Watties apricot halves. There had also been in-i creases again in wrapped sliced bread. The prices of many items had increased, twice this year, including 50 different Watties canned products. Mrs Ke'lv said
