Second face-lift in four years

The Union Steam Ship, Company’s vessel Union 11 Melbourne is undergoing a[( second jor alteration ,1 since it was built in 1973. I [Sieta’s yard in Hamburg, ’West Germany, and completed at the Norbiskrug 3 Yard at Rensburg, on the , ! Kiel Canal. Ihe Union Melbourne later replaced the Hawea (now named the Coastal Ranger) on the Lyttelton-Wellington-Melbourne run. Her owners, Northern Coasters, Ltd, had run two similar vessels on a shuttle service across the Irish sea. A stern ramp is being added at Singapore.
