Hard look at alfalfa aphid
A Canterbury agricultural scientist, Mr T. E. T. Trought, an entomologist with the Ministry of Agriculture at Lincoln, is one of six New Zealand scientists who have been awarded Trimble fellowships. The Trimble Agricultural Research Fund was established last year from a bequest by Miss Ruth Trimble, of New Plymouth, who died.in 1976. The trust gives agricultural scientists grants for overseas study tours. Mr Trought will study Australian methods of cOn:rolli'ng a lucerne pest, the spotted alfalfa aphid.
