Chance for boys
The final of “The Press” penalty-kicking competition will be held at English Park today, just before the Rothmans Soccer League match between Trans Tours United and Eastern Suburbs. For the first time, two groups of five boys will play off for two trophies, one for the eight-11 years group and the other for 12 to 15-year-olds. have to beat the United reserve goal-keeper, Stephen Reeves, to score. This is the eighth year the tournament has been held. Play will begin at 1.40 p.m. The finalists, are.— Eight--11 group: Peter James (Burwood), Mark Orschoot (Rangers), Warner Lamb, Kerry Evans (Rangiora), Frank McManus (Shamrock). Twelve-15 group: Graeme Hooper (Cashmere-Wan-derers), Malcolm Mairs (Kaiaipoi), Juan McDonald (New Brighton), John Groenendaal (Shamrock), Brian Smith (Rangiora).
