THE AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY FACULTY OF SCIENCE DEPARTMENT OF ZOOLOGY SENIOR TUTOR APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED for appointment to Seunior Tutor in the Department of Zoology (Head: Professor S. A. Barnett). Applicants should have a good honours degree in zoology and subsequent experience of research, a is hoped to appoint an invertebrate zoologist with a special interest in developmental biology, physiology or ethology. The person appointed may be required to teach undergraduates of any year, and also to help in the supervision of honours and graduate students. He or she will also be expected to do research. The successful applicant will be required to take up duty early in 1979. The appointment will be until December 31, 1979 in the first instance with the possibility of four annual extensions thereafter. CLOSING DATE: September 29, 1978. SALARIES: Salary for the post of Senior Tutor is in accordance with qualifications and experience within the range $13,083-$14,987 per annum Australian currency. THE PAPUA NEW GUINEA UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the post of PLANNING OFFICER QUALIFICATIONS: A University degree preferably in some branch of science or Technology, a general knowledge of Statistical methods and of Educational Planning, prior experience in some planning activity, preferably obtained in university administration, or academic work and a genuine interest in the problems of Universities in developing countries. DUTIES: 1. To co-ordinaie. on behalf of the University's planning committees, proposals for planning development emanating from University departments and the planning committees themselves. , 2. To prepare statistics, briefs, working papers and other material required for planning purposes. 3. To act as working secretary to the Umversity s planning Committees and in particular '.A- to prepare detailed plans tor University development in a form acceptable to the University and Government iB) to liaise on planning matters, on behalf ot the University and in particular its planning commrttes, with the office of higher education and other Government Bodies as appropriate. It is expected that the dunes of the Post will include the training ot a National replacement who will take over the duties of the Post at the end of the contract period. SALARY: Clerk Class 8 9. The total contract package is under review, but currently includes an overseas allowance (Kl3OO single K 2300 married) and child allowances, while reunion tares and school fees may also be provided for children being educated away from their parents' place of residence.
