NZ ARMY WORKS OFFICER-ARMY Applications are invited for a position in the Works Branch of Defence Headquarters, Wellington, as a Works Officer (Army). This position will suit a person who has had experience with Government or Local Bodies in the administration and supervision of Building Construction or Public Works. DUTIES: These will cover investigation, reporting, estimating and recommending upon works proposals in Defence establishments; liaison with MWD and other Government Departments in regard to Defence Works; assisting in the preparation of maintenance of existing facilities and arranging the implementation of authorised works. CONDITIONS; The successful applicant would receive a specialist commission and rank on entry will depend on‘qualification and experience. The term of engagement will initially be for a three year period with the prospects of further service and promotion. AGE AND QUALIFICATIONS: The Army is looking for a mature man in the 25-40 age bracket and with a background in any one of the engineering or building disciplines. Qualifications in the fields of NACE, NZCB, NZCD or NZCQS and/or membership of a recognised technicians’ institute would be desirable.
