C. of C. award

The New Zealand Chambers of Commerce has urged companies to maintain or increase their efforts to create a greater feeling of relations ship between the company and the staff.

The executive vice-presi-dent of the chambers (Mr A. R. Simm) said yesterday: “Every company has a responsibility to itself to keep its staff fully informed about its activities, its results and the prospects for the future.”'

The activity of the Chamber of Commerce movement

in this area had clearly demonstrated the economic value of increased confidence in job security which arose from greater knowledge of what was going on, said Mr Simm. To encourage communication and worker involvement, the chambers would make another award later in the year for the company which produced the most effective report to its staff, he said.

Entries for the award entitled “Win your Way to Business Understanding,” will close on October 30.
