CSR mills sold
CSR, Ltd, and the New South Wales Sugar Milling Co-operative Ltd, have completed the purchase by the co-operative of CSR’s three I New South Wales sugar mills. I The new owners will take I possession of the mills at a f time when the outlook for, the 1978 season sugar production is most encouraging. To the end of July 364,000 tonnes of cane have been crushed, compared with last year’s 265,000 tonnes, and j indications are that the season will be a near record. i The purchase of the mills ! by the co-operative has been supported by a majority of cane growers, and the Nevy South Wales Government, and the Rural Bank are providing substantial financial and other support, CSR is providing the cooperative with staff and other services for five years.
