Deadlock broken
The troubled Mangere Bridge project got a new lease of life last evening, after a 10-week deadlock, when employers and unions agreed to meet each other over the negotiating table. The employers (Wilkins and Davies Construction) and the unions (carpenters and labourers) have been in dispute over redundancy claims for four months.—(PA)
