Forecast: Canterbury: Fresh northwesterlies and mainly fine at first; a change to fresh, cold south-westerlies late in the day with widespread showers and snow down to 500 m.
Marlborough, Nelson: Fresh north or north-west winds, and occasional showers about the sounds and in Nelson; mainly fine elsewhere; more widespread rain likely late in the day; mild in the afternoon. Buller, Westland: Moderate north-westerlies at first, but fresh cold southwesterlies in the afternoon; cloudy, with occasional showers turning to more persistent rain. Outlook: Showers in all disi tricts.
