Mercenary plot foiled — Congo
NZPA-Reuter Brazzaville (Congo) The Congo’s military Government has enforced a security clampdown after announcing that a mercenary plot to invade the country and assassinate its leaders had been foiled. President Joachim Yhomb: Opango said in a television and radio broadcast that his Marxist Government had cancelled independence day celebrations due yesterday.
