Distinctive bureau symbol

The distinctive symbol which identifies the newly-formed convention bureaux is a stylised version of the letters “C. 8. — with a strong New Zealand flavour.

The symbol was created

by Neil Gower, art director of Braynart Group Ltd, Rotorua, publishers of Convention FORUM and the N.A.C. Convention Directories.

The new symbol will become the trademark of the service to conference organisers being offered by New Zealand Convention Bureaux.

These bureaux, which are being set up in a number of convention areas, are designed to service the industry at “grass roots” level.

Each is an independent operation, existing to facilitate conferences in its own area. All bureaux, however, share the com-

mon symbol and offer a uniformly high standard of service.

The establishment of the Convention Bureaux, usually in conjunction with the local public relations office, will make it easier for organisers to plan better meetings. And the various bureaux, promoting their own areas, will clearly reveal new territories available for convention use.

As the Convention Bureaux concept develops, the local bureau will quickly become indispensable — and the bureaux symbol will become the hallmark of the services offered.
