The New Zealand fast bowler Richard Hadlee is going up in his world — lie has received his first threatening letter. It came to him from a * man in Birmingham, claimi ing to be a lorn/ driver. Hadlee was accused of bowlinq bouncers at Geoff Boycott, but not at David Gower. The letter-writer erred in fact. He accused Hadlee of ’ coming from a nonProtestant Anglo-Saxon family, and said that if he maimed any United Kingdom batsman he “would be ; cut for life.” The writer likened Had--1 lee to the Australian Len
