powder and gelignite are kept in the county’s magazine. The County Clerk (Mr V. B. Novis) said the council sold explosives to ratepayers because there was no other distributor in Cheviot. The council agreed to call tenders for a new magazine. But the tendered prices will determine if the council goes ahead with a new magazine, or stops selling explosives.
