South Island promotion
Sir, — It is gratifying to note that the Labour Party is cognisant of the inequities in the present dispersion of this country’s resources between the North and the South Islands. However, not even the indefatigability of Mrs Mollie Clark will compensate for the fact that as the party continually in opposition, Labour has effected little reward for votes given. The solution to the difficulties of the South Island will come about through the common endeavour of us all. The divisionary attitude of Mrs Clark can hardly be regarded as being a positive step towards the achievement in the South Island of equal economic growth with the North. — Yours, etc.,
MATTHEW J. GLUBB. August 3, 1978.
