Licence for dogs
Sir, — The article about Mrs Lloyd’s application to the Papa'rua County Council for a licence (August 1) is most interesting. I do not think 1 could stand that many small dogs under foot all day. But being a Maltese owner I felt I must add some support for Mrs Lloyd. We have two Maltese. It is a tedious job to groom them and I feel that if Mrs Lloyd can keep a “clean and tidy home and keep her Maltese well groomed, and well behaved” as stated in the article, then surely she should be allowed a licence to keep as many of these small “dogettes” as she feels capable of keeping. Cr Wright is gravely misinformed in believing there is money to be made showing dogs of any description. There i; more money spent on feeding and caring for a dog than ca.. ever be made in the show ring. — Yours, etc., MRS C. A. TAYLOR. Penmarric Kennels and Cattery. Twizel. August 2, 1978.
