Belfast
Television One presents an unusual documentary tonight which brings together show business and war. “The Realistics in Belfast” follows four black American soul singers through bombs and barricades as they accept an engagement in Northern Ireland. All four have lived with violence and yet they were afraid to go to Belfast. Sandy, leader of the group, fought in the front line in the Vietnam war.
James was beaten up, shot and nearly killed by political rivals when working for Martin Luther King. John was shot in the heart as a child in Brooklyn, and “T. C.” grew up in a Chicago ghetto. Now they face Ireland.
