Campaign in dump
PA Nelson The Values Party will launch its General Election campaign in the Nelson electorate at the city’s rubbish dump. The candidate, Mrs A. Lawn, who is new to the political platform, plans a gathering of supporters to focus attention on one aspect of Conservation Week refuse disposal and recycling.
Mrs Lawn, who is blind, has invited two previous party candidates, Dr G. Struick and Mr A. Stanton, to the gathering, which will be held on Thursday afternoon. The plans for the campaign opening were made public yesterday by a party official, Ms A. Walker, who said that the smells and unsavoury setting would give the candidate adequate background for discussion.
