Long life of service
PA Auckland Air Commodore Sidney Wallingford, C. 8., C.8.E., a former deputy-chief of the Royal New Zealand Air Force, has died at Opito Bay near Whitianga.
Air Commodore Wallingford, who was bom in England and was educated at the Auckland Grammar School, was aged 80. He joined the Royal Air Force, was champion rifle shot in 1927-29 and won the Queen Mary prize at Bisley in 1028. He served in both World Wars, and held many posts in the .R.NXA.F. during and after World War 11. He retired in 1954.
