Hockey to Services
The Combined Services hockey team wound up its four-match tour of Canterbury with a good 2-0 win against Canterbury colts at Wigram. The Services team controlled the match from the outset, but could not convert opportunities into goals until early in the second half. Bill Hadley scored the first goal after five minutes of the second spell, and Graham Morrell netted another soon after. The game was played at a fast pace on a field surprisingly firm after recent rain.
