Felling irks Akaroa
Trees which have been cut down in the Akaroa Hospital) grounds were diseased and unsafe, according to a; spokesman for the North Canterbury Hospital Board. The exotic trees, some estimated to be 100 years. old, were cut down after they had been inspected by the board’s grounds superintendent The felling has apparently angered Akaroa residents. I who were not aware that! the trees were to come down.
