Smuggling tragedy
NZPA New York A 31-year-old New York man who allegedly tried to smuggle his brother-in-law into the United States from Jamaica has been arrested and charged with the death of the man, whose body was found in a suitcase at John F. Kennedy Airport, the police have said. Audley Gibson’s body was discovered at about 9 p.m. on Sunday, after the large suitcase partially split open after it fell from a belt carrying it to the baggage claim area.
GibsOn, slightly built and very thin, had apparently suffocated during the threehour flight, according to a detective. Gibson’s brother-in-law, Noel Golding, was arrested at airport Customs about an hour later and charged with criminally negligent homicide.
