Attendance suffers
Snow prevented about 120 people, mostly from country districts, attending a fashion parade to raise funds for the Laura Fergusson Trust for Disabled Persons in Christchurch on Thursday.
All 350 tickets had been sold before the event. About $l4OO was raised for the trust.
“The women's auxiliary regrets that the weather stopped so many people seeing the parade,’* said the president (Mrs L. N. Mcllroy). “Perhaps we will be able to repeat it.” The parade of the latest leather and suede fashions including many original designs by the Christchurch designer, Caroline Goodman, was presented by the Tannery, at the Chateau Commodore.
