No payment of ransom
INZPA-Reuter Jakarta I The Indonesian Governiment has rejected a ransom demand from a group of separatist Irianese rebels holding five Indonesian officials as hostages for more than a month, according to the Governor of Irian Jaya (Brigadier-General Sutran). The rebels abducted seven Indonesian officials on May 17 and later killed two of them before fleeing into Papua New Guinea. The hostages include two Army officers and the chairman of the Irian Jaya Provincial Legislative Assembly.
