Mr N. W. Taylor (a >ove), a former Ashburton man, will become director of the Meat Board’s and the Wool Board’s joint Economic Service.

Mr Taylor has been chief economist to the service since 1970. He will succeed Mr F. L. Ward as director in September. Mr Taylor has a farming background. He was educated at Waitaki Boys’ High School and gained the degree of master of agricultural science from Lincoln College in 1967.

He was a research officer in the Agricultural Economics Research Unit and later a lecturer at Lincoln College before taking up his present post. While with the service, Mr Taylor has been involved in farm surveys, and has served on the economics working party of the Agricultural Production Council, the Agricultural Review Committee, and the Zanetti Committee on farm incomes.
