Western on top of league
Western moved to the top of the Broadlands Southern League soccer table with a 3-1 win over North End United in Christchurch yesterday. However, Dunedin City, which has generally dominated the competition this season, has a match in hand and a vastlv superior goal average. In the onlv otner Broadlands League match played. Cashmere Wanderers was beaten. 3-2, b\ Northern Hearts at Somerfield Park. Matches played in the Broad lands Qualifying League resulted: — Halswell 2, Woolston 0; Burn dale United 2. High School Old Boys 1; Papanui W.M.C. 3. Christchurch United 3; Nomads United 5, University 2.
