Greymouth reporter A Greymouth woman, Mrs Lillian Adams, has collected about 100 signatures on a petition protesting to the New Zealand Medical Association about the “fine” imposed on Dr Barry Dallas. The petition lauds his “dedication to duty in looking after the welfare of the people of Greymouth and the West Coast.”
“The reponse has been fantastic,” she said yesterday. To an inquiry by “The Press.” Dr Dallas said that on 40 days from April, 1977, to the end of last year he had had more than 100 consultations, with a maximum of 149 on one day. He was now seeing between 70 and 80 patients a day.
