What was that he said?

NZPA-Reuter Ottawa Did the Canadian Prime Minister (Mr Pierre Trudeau) shout “absolute bullshit” in the middle of a Parliamentary row on Tuesday? That is what it sounded like in the live radio broadcast of the proceedings. Several Parliamentary reporters and others listening on the radio swore they heard the outspoken Canadian leader deliver the expletive to the former Conservative Prime Minister, Mr John Diefenbaker. But Hansard, the official record of Parliament’s

business, decided that Mr Trudeau had said nothing ruder than “absolute bunk.” Mr Trudeau was not immediately available to put the record straight on the outburst, which occurred during a heated exchange over the recent controversial conviction of a man under the Official Secrets Act. The outburst recalled an incident in Parliament in 1971 when Mr Trudeau was accused of using a much stronger four-letter word. On that occasion, Mr Trudeau maintained that he had said “Fuddleduddle.”
